Assured Cloud Computing must be secure, timely, effective, and support the Air Force mission. To meet these needs, the new ACC-UCoE offers the expertise of over 100+ research faculty at the Information Trust Institute (ITI) including experts in mathematical and experimental cloud computing, security, parallel and data intensive computing, networking, reliability, availability, modeling, virtualization, protocols, real-time systems, data mining, sens- ing, systems, and architecture. Since 2004, ITI has supported a multidisciplinary “Research Network” of 100+ research faculty to complete a cumulative of almost $60M in sponsored research into trustworthy systems. The College of Engineering, of which ITI is a part, is ranked sixth in the nation and includes the Departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Science that are both ranked in the top five of the nation. The ACC-UCoE will include a Core of research consisting of design, formal analysis, and multi-party concerns; Teaming to address the concerns emerging from interactions with the Air Force; and a focused Workforce Development and STEM educational program.
